Do the timing check early
A single-entry Japan tourist visa is generally valid for travel within 3 months from issuance. That means applying too early can be a problem, but applying during busy periods can also be stressful.
Prepare the basic papers first
Start with the passport, passport bio-page copy, application form, photo, PSA birth certificate, and PSA marriage certificate if married. If you already used a Japan visa before, read the embassy notes because some civil documents may not be needed.

- Each stay under the regular multiple-entry temporary visitor category must be within 30 days.
- The considerable financial capacity category may allow stays within 90 days.
- The Embassy decides whether the submitted evidence qualifies for single or multiple entry.
